This is one of the bird feeders I use in the garden shows you roughly how its made up really all it is is various branches tied together , in the image you will see the bait smeared onto branches with seed usually this is not visible as its covered in moss but have removed for this photo, the tallest of the vertical branches in the image is where todays upload of the nuthatch was taken , all these branches are tied together and the moss is wrapped on using green coloured food ties, I do water the moss daily as it is still growing.

You can then tie all the branches to a broom handle and position anywhere in the garden where you wish to take the photo, handy as you can move it about for bes light etc, I tend to stay in the same place here as the bord are so used to this spot.

I have a similar set up in one of the back gardens but instead of using branches I have used old tree truks and drilled holes into the making well shapes to hold seed etc.

You can also if you dont have a garden I suppose do something similar ona smaller scale for local park etc. Then its a case of keeping the food topped up so its always available for the birds plenty of patience and sit back and wait for them to arrive.

I do also change my branches about regualrly so my photos dont end up looking the same if you get my meaning also you can add seasonal branches to keep in theme with the time of year, I have got holly which I also tie onto branches which is fab for Robin shots etc. Ivy could be used, berries pinecones anything.

Might look into that finepixs5600/thumbsupsmiley[1].png

I have often thought that if photography were difficult in the true sense of the term -- meaning that the creation of a simple photograph would entail as much time and effort as the production of a good watercolor or etching -- there would be a vast improvement in total output. The sheer ease with which we can produce a superficial image often leads to creative disaster.
